Stevie Brouillet, owner and founding director of K.I.D.S. LLC (Kids in Dramatic Study) is the Vocal Music teacher at Centennial Lane Elementary School and has over 30 years experience in the Howard County Public School System. She has directed, staged and choreographed countless musical theatre productions ranging from pre-school to high school. She served as musical director for Wilde Lake High School’s, Grease, Pippin, and They’re Playing Our Song, and Howard High School’s, Oklahoma. From 1998 to 2005, Ms. Brouillet was the musical director for The Young Columbians, a professional touring ensemble under the auspices of Columbia Center for Theatrical Arts (CCTA) and Toby’s Dinner Theatre.
Since 1986, the K.I.D.S. after-school drama program has been housed at various Howard County elementary and middle schools. In 1998, Ms. Brouillet introduced the program to Centennial Lane Elementary School, and under the sponsorship of the CLES PTA, has consistently enrolled 110 to 120 third, fourth, and fifth graders since it’s inception. At CLES, K.I.D.S. has staged You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown, The Wizard of OZ, Peter Pan, Free To Be You and Me, Grease, Dig It, The Music Man, Annie, Oklahoma and Beauty and the Beast.
A.K. Brink, is a graduate of the Catholic University of America and has been teaching and performing professionally in the area for the last ten years. She has taught for the Bethesda Academy of Performing Arts, St. Mary of the Mills School, and St. Andrew’s UM Day School. She was also the director and co-director of Slayton House Conservatory for Pajama Game, Pippin, Kiss Me Kate, Cinderella, Les Miserables, Wizard of Oz, and Seussical. Ms. Brink is the acting director of St. Andrew’s Show Stoppers and the founding director of Ascension Arts Express. Additionally, she is a voice over artist and has performed on stage at the Kennedy Center, Signature Theatre, MetroStage, Olney Theatre Center, and in over twenty main stage productions at Toby’s Dinner Theatre. She was also a 2003 and 2005 Howard County Rising Star finalist. Since 2003, Ms. Brink has acted as director and choreographer for K.I.D.S., overseeing all classes and rehearsals.
Alan Wiggins, the most recent addition to the K.I.D.S. staff, is a former student of Catholic University’s Musical Theatre program and recently completed the National tour of Children’s Letters to God. He has been seen locally as Willard in Footloose , Mereb in Aida, and a Wickersham Brother in Seussical at Toby’s. In addition to acting, Alan has been employed by Columbia Center for Theatrical Arts where he has taught children ages six through eighteen for the past three summers. Mr. Wiggins assists both with directing and choreography.
