Stevie Brouillet, owner and founding director of K.I.D.S., LLC (Kids in Dramatic Study) is the Vocal Music teacher at Centennial Lane Elementary School and has over 30 years experience in the Howard County Public School System.  She has directed, staged and choreographed countless musical theatre productions ranging from pre-school to high school. She served as musical director for Wilde Lake High School’s, Grease, Pippin, and They’re Playing Our Song, and Howard High School’s, Oklahoma.  From 1998 to 2005, Ms. Brouillet was the musical director for The Young Columbians, a professional touring ensemble under the auspices of Columbia Center for Theatrical Arts (CCTA) and Toby’s Dinner Theatre.

Since 1986, the K.I.D.S. after-school drama program has been housed at various Howard County elementary and middle schools. In 1998, Ms. Brouillet introduced the program to Centennial Lane Elementary School, and under the sponsorship of the CLES PTA,  has consistently enrolled 90 to 120 third, fourth, and fifth graders since it’s inception.  At CLES, K.I.D.S. has staged You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown, The Wizard of OZ, Peter Pan, Free To Be You and Me, Grease, Dig It, The Music Man, Annie, Jr., Oklahoma, The Jungle Book, Beauty and the Beast, Willy Wonka, Jr, and Honk! Jr.


Kurt Boehm (Director/Instructor)

Kurt most recently served as choreographer for Footloose, High School Musical 2, and Urinetown for Teen K.I.D.S. Summer Conservatory. He also has taught at Columbia Center for Theatrical Arts, Creative Artists Institute, and Creative Cauldron. Mr. Boehm  choreographed The Keegan Theatre's production of RENT (Helen Hayes Award Winner), Dancing at Lughnasa, and A Man of No Importance. Other Credits include: Des Fledermaus (Catholic University), Damn Yankees, and Thoroughly Modern Millie (Centennial HS). Kurt has performed at the Kennedy Center, Signature Theatre, Arena Stage, Ford's Theatre, Adventure Theatre, Theatre of the The First Amendment and Toby's Dinner Theatre. His performances at Signature Theatre in Kiss of the Spider Woman and Les Miserables (award winner) were all recognized by the Helen Hayes Awards for 2009 Outstanding Ensemble in a Musical as well as Goodnight Moon (Adventure Theatre/Tribute Productions).  Mr. Boehm graduated from The Catholic University of America, Bachelor's in Music with a concentration in Musical Theatre.

Summer Camp Staff

Kathryn Carlson, (Director)
will be co-directing the K.I.D.S and Teen K.I.D.S productions. Most recently, she directed Urinetown and High School Musical 2 with K.I.D.S. For the past six years, she has been the theatre teacher at Centennial High School. She is also the Education Director for the Baltimore Improv Group. She has worked as a camp director and counselor at Slayton House Camp of the Arts. Ms. Carlson has performed at the Studio Theatre, Creative Alliance, Theatre Project, and Everyman Theatre. She received her Bachelor's degree from UMCP in Theatre and English Education and her Master's degree in Theatre Management from Brooklyn College.
 
Brant Challacombe, (Music Director) is an educator, composer, arranger, band leader, and keyboard artist who is very excited to spend this summer working with K.I.D.S. Summer Conservatory. Regional Favorites: Floyd Collins, Parade, and Jesus Christ Superstar.National Tours: Cabaret and Annie. International Credits: West Side Story, Grease!, and Once On This Island (in Spanish). Awards: The Renna Hunter for A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline (2001, Best Musical) and New Hampshire's Guild Award for Hit The Road Jack! with Ray Charles (2005, Best Original Review). Brant currently teaches upper school music at Glenelg Country School and is involved with the Baltimore Cappies and Cappies International Theatre.
